Welcome to North Wootton
North Wootton is an ancient woodland settlement lying below the Mendip Hills, looking out across the Somerset Levels towards the iconic Glastonbury Tor.
The Village Hall sits at the centre of this peaceful landscape, nestled between the 14th‑century parish church of St Peter’s, its historic graveyard and wildlife garden, and facing the idyllic Village Green with its apple trees and gentle views.
With the River Redlake and the famous Monarch’s Way hiking trail meandering through the village, North Wootton is a lovely place to pause — whether for a day, an afternoon, or a longer stay to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of our surroundings.
Originally built as a Church Room and opened in 1906, the Hall was leased to the village in 1963. Since then, it has been run by a dedicated committee who raise funds, maintain the building, and organise many much‑loved village events, including quiz evenings, talks, Harvest Home lunches and competitions, Easter egg hunts, Christmas gatherings and the New Year bonfire and fireworks.
These events nurture the strong community spirit that defines North Wootton — and visitors are always warmly welcomed to join in.
